If a player is injured the substitute for his position will be fielded. You can also set preplanned substitutions.

Before a match you can set up preplanned substitutions, either to make a tactical change or if you want to field a fresh player. E.g. you can change an attacker for a defender to defend a lead or vice versa if you need to score some goals.

You get to choose from certain conditions that have to be met before a substitution takes place. You can choose to make a substitution after a certain amount of time has passed and/or what the score is. Apart from these orders you can also set up a substitution to take place if one of your (or one of the opponent’s) players is shown a red card.
