On the Fans page you can see what your fans expect of each match. League position and season expectations for both teams are taken into consideration. Expectations can be that you win, loose or that it’s going to be a close race – they can even be that you win or lose with a certain margin. Fans tend to have higher expectations for home matches.
At the beginning of each season the fans base their match expectations on their hopes for the season. As the season progresses the current league position will have a bigger influence on fan expectations. So if you are having a poor season the fans will grow accustomed to this and lower their expectations (Season expectations remain the same throughout the season). Not only league position but also points will have an influence. Fans don’t care if it’s a 2nd or a 5th place as long as all the teams in between have the same amount of points.
Having your star player injured will not influence match expectations.
Season expectations have an influence on match expectations. Eg: are you playing against a major competitor in the league or if the upcoming match is a sure defeat to the top team.
What the fans expect of a single match has no bearing on how many spectators will show up on stadium. So even if the fans expect to lose this will not mean fewer spectators.
When playing a Cup match fans expectations are based almost entirely on each teams season expectations. They also take into consideration which league level each team is currently on.
