Captain »
The captain has to be chosen from the 11 starters on the field.
Some rules:
- If you do not pick a captain, the players themselves will pick one by a draw.
- If the captain is substituted during a game the player replacing him will become the new captain.
- If the captain is sent off a random player will be selected as the new captain.
When the teams accumulated experience is calculated all the players experience is added together. On top of this is added a bonus based on the captains experience and leadership skill. This is the only thing the captain is used for. However the impact is not small, as it can keep your team from getting confused by a strange tactic, or from nervousness at the end of a cup or a qualification match.
When choosing your captain leadership and experience are the key factors. A rule of thumb says that the captain uses 60% leadership and 40% experience.
